The Pirates of Penzance

Set sail for a fun-filled topsy-turvy adventure with Gilbert and Sullivan’s beloved operetta, The Pirates of Penzance.

This hilarious tale follows young Frederic, who was mistakenly apprenticed to a band of tender-hearted pirates. Upon turning 21, Frederic prepares to leave his life of piracy behind and finds himself head-over-heels in love with Mabel, the daughter of the bumbling Major-General Stanley. However, a "most ingenious paradox" involving his leap-year birthday reveals he is technically only five years old—and still bound to his pirate crew.

The Pirates of Penzance is packed with witty wordplay, swordplay, and iconic songs like the rapid-fire “I am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General”. Fit for the full family, it is Gilbert and Sullivan at their best - a delightful mix of romance, and satire that has dazzled audiences for generations.
