Emily Senturia
San Francisco native Emily Senturia draws from her diverse experience as a violinist and opera coach to conduct operatic repertoire with a sympathetic affinity for both singers and instrumentalists. Recent engagements include Kentucky Opera (The Barber of Seville; La Traviata), West Edge Opera (Rinaldo; the World Premiere of Bulrusher) Madison Opera (Così fan tutte), Opera Santa Barbara (Giulio Cesare, Semele), and Wolf Trap Opera (The Marriage of Figaro, Ariadne auf Naxos). Her 2027 season continues with Tosca at the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera.
Senturia made mainstage debuts conducting The Barber of Seville with both Houston Grand Opera and Washington National Opera in 2018 and music directed the World Premiere of Denis & Katya at Opera Philadelphia’s O19 Festival. She has worked on music staff at Houston Grand Opera, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, The Atlanta Opera, and Opera Philadelphia.
