Opera 102 Lecture - Part 2

It's a Singer's World
Wednesday, March 14, 2018 - 7:00pm (Phoenix)

Arizona Opera's Director of Education Joshua Borths hosts a three part series, with music and video examples, to discuss the history of opera and what you should to listen to when you attend a performance! Opera is more than Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd screeching Figaro and Flight of the Valkyries. Opera, Borths says, is the ultimate art form because it combines all other disciplines into one incredible work.

Part 2: It's a Singer's World

Not many people realize it, but the "classical sound" is actually quite new. Join us for this fascinating examination of the egos, virtuosity, and humanity that make up opera singers through the ages and the impact they have had on this great art form.
