Opera 101 Lecture - Part 3

Opera in the 20th and 21st Centuries
Thursday, February 1, 2018 - 7:00pm (Phoenix)

Arizona Opera's Director of Education Joshua Borths hosts a three part series, with music and video examples, to discuss the history of opera and what you should listen to when you attend a performance. In week 3, Borths explores the 20th and 21st centuries, culminating in the world-premieres of today, and how they in return reflect the rich history of opera.

Opera is more than Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd screeching Figaro and Flight of the Valkyries. Opera, Borths says, is the ultimate art form because it combines all other disciplines into one incredible work.
