American Opera Lecture Series: Part 2

Wednesday, March 29, 2017 - 7:00pm (Phoenix)

Arizona Opera presents our American Opera Lecture Series, a three-part event fully delving into the history of Opera on this side of the ocean. From Porgy and Bess on Broadway to Riders of the Purple Sage on our own stages here in Arizona, expand your mind and listen to this engaging event presented by Josh Borths, Director of Education and Community Engagement.

Part 2: 1955-2000
As American Opera begins to flourish, we will explore and celebrate the diversity of American Opera. From the development to the operatic musical, to minimalism's influence on opera, we will discover how music and drama interacted in a post-war world.

This lecture series is a fundraiser for the Arizona Opera Department of Education.
Tickets for the complete series are $60.00, individual tickets also available.
